If you’ve made it this deep into the site. Thank you. I’m not really one to put my face everywhere – but I figured it’s appropriate to at least introduce myself to the masses who’ve come this far.

I am the mother of four, yes, 4 beautiful children whom drive me equally insane as giddy with love. I am an educator but not by trade and I absolutely love working with teenagers/ young adults. I am an Ohio native that came to Illinois by way of Knoxville, TN. I miss the mountains… I am a thick woman , but this wind up here threatens to blow me over every time.

This site was birthed because of a collective need to have a gathering place or a “heartbeat” for the city. While we are still working on a physical place, I thought well hey… a digital space can suffice for now, so, here we are. The Heart of Farmer City. This site is intended to serve a place you can drop in to see what’s going on around you. Have friends coming to visit? Send them to the site so they can see what things they can get into.

I used to laugh when telling people I was moving to Farmer City. I knew it was a small town and assumed there wasn’t much to it except bean and corn fields. Creating this space has been so sweet because I have realized that this town is so dynamic. This site doesn’t even begin to capture how wonderfully amazing this little town is. This is just a start. This site will grow, along with the city and my hope is that you will come, grow with us.
